What's New for 2010-11 Ski Season at Nakiska Ski Resort
Nakiska is excited to go into the second season celebrating all the amazing enhancements that were implemented last year including the new Gold Chair Express, the exciting introduction of the Monster Glades, and snowmaking expansion; to mention a few. These major improvements were noted by guests and Olympic athletes training at Nakiska prior to the 2010 Games and were also timely for the preparation to host the Canadian National Championships last season.

After an outstanding 2009-10 ski season, Nakiska looks forward to the upcoming season and while still feeling the glow from the recent enhancements, welcomes a new thrilling addition, the new Nakiska rail park: NaJIBska. The new rail park with have a variety of 18 features and starting mid-December, will be accessible from the Silver Chair Express and located on Elbow. NaJIBska Rail Park features:

- Clearing in the Monster Glades will facilitate an easier entry to this area
- 4 additional snow fan guns have been added to the largest snowmaking system in Alberta. These new guns will be placed in the area of Homesteader and Mapmaker, facilitating early season opening.
Events & Activities
- Mommy & Me program: a special ski program for mothers and children to experience together.
- Women's Day/Men's Day: selected days throughout the season will be dedicated to provide a unique experience catered to women or men with lift ticket, shuttle service, and dinner packages available.
- Celebrating the 1yr anniversary of the Gold Chair Express & Monster Glades: We will have a big celebration tied in with our special Community Appreciation Day, including ribbon cutting, balloons, ceremonial ski through the Monster Trails, commemorative plaque presentation, bbq, and possibly fireworks!
In the Area
- Alberta Canadian Rockies' visitors now have a 4th ski resort with the new Nakiska Daily Shuttle service, accessible from all Banff hotels and the Radisson in Canmore.
- The Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino is now open! Located at the gateway to the Canadian Rockies and only 20mins from Nakiska Ski Resort. This brand new facility features 111 guest rooms with views of the Canadian Rockies, state-of-the-art meeting and banquet facilities, and an indoor water park. Offering a first-class casino experience with a variety of dining options including the Ridge Buffet, Peaks Café, and the Sidelines Lounge; and great entertainment from pay-per-view events to live concerts.
- Kananaskis Helicopter Tours - Offering Heli-hiking or Rockies Sightseeing. The local micro climate weather in Kananaskis permits more flying days than any other Canadian Rockies operator. Open year round, 8 am to 8 pm (daylight hours) with departures every 30 minutes. Located at the Stoney Nakoda Resort and Casino at the junction of the Kananaskis Trail (Hwy 40) & Trans Canada Highway (Hwy 1) between Calgary and Banff.
