TELUS Spin at Tremblant – Last Races of the Season for Our Snowboard Olympians
Come celebrate with our gold medalist Jasey-Jay Anderson
It is from March 26th until April 4th that Tremblant's spring event takes place, The TELUS spin, where several amazing competitions await skiers and visitors. Within this spring festival the Canadian Snowboard Championship (CSF) is held, and represents the last event of the winter season for the snowboarders. The Olympic gold medalists Jasey-Jay Anderson and Maëlle Ricker as well as Mike Robertson, Dominique Maltais, Caroline Calvé, and several other athletes of the Canadian Team are expected at this event and will show us what they are made of.
On top of the Canadian Snowboard Championship (CSF), many other competitions will please everyone.
The event that draws many people is the T4 Coca-Cola in collaboration with K2 Skis where two skiers and two snowboarders hit the slopes all at once, giving away more than $10,000 in prize and money. This is an evening race on a track lit just for this event, under an electrifying atmosphere.
The classic women-only Billabong Flaunt It holds nice surprises this year: The athlete Anne-Flore Marxer, from the International Billabong Team, will be a guest star and a judge at the Flaunt It. The Flaunt It events are always designed with fun in mind, with the format allowing the athletes to ride all day. The final event is open to all female riders (PRO & AM). The final prize boasts an increased cash purse of $10,000 plus additional product and prizes up for grabs
As for the Salomon Jib Academy, it is a tour of slope style ski event for athletes 16 years old and younger. Among the known athletes confirmed JD Zicat, Seb Eayes, Paul Bergeron, Alexis Godbout, Antoine Bourassa, Iannick Brouillette, Philou Poirier, and many others are expected. Participants ski in groups all morning with a Salomon pro coach learning new tricks and meeting other skiers. In the afternoon there is a 10-12 person final jam session where tons of great prizes will be given out including the Grand Prize trip to Mammoth Mountain for the Jib Academy Final.
Several other competitions are on the schedule such as the Burton Mini Machine, Big Air competition for kids 15 years old and younger that will give a truly impressive show.
