Marble Mountain Extends Season
Eastern Spring Skiing
Newfoundland's Marble Mountain is reporting ski conditions are amazing for the time of year, so they've decided to try and extend the season past Sunday, April 8.
Marble hope to keep on skiing until at least April 14. Daily updates by 7:00am are available anytime at skimarble.com or 709.637.SNOW.
To celebrate spring skiing and Easter Weekend, Marble has two events scheduled:
Saturday, April 7
DUMMY DOWNHILL11:00am
Get ready for Marble Mountain's annual Dummy Downhill Race. You or your team build the dummy; Marble will build the race course. The dummy that stays standing, lands the jump and then travels the greatest distance wins!
- $5 entry fee (the creators of the winning dummy take all)
- Limit of 50 entries
- Dummy must have a human or animal figure attached to skis or a snowboard
- No pyrotechnics!
- Register in the administration office the day of the race.
SLUSH PIT COMPETITION
2:00pm
End the season with a splash! The Slush Pit Competition is not for wimps. It's for skiers and snowboarders willing to brave the icy waters of the Slush Pit for a chance to win a season pass. If you're competing, bring a change of clothes, because you WILL get wet! Register at the administration office the day of the event. You must be 18 or older to compete.
The Dummy Downhill and Slush Pit Competition will happen weather permitting. Visit skimarble.com or call 709.637.SNOW for updates.
