Fernie & Kicking Horse Open June 23 With MTB, Hiking, Ziplining, Golfing, Whitewater Rafting...
Two of British Columbia’s top ski resorts will open early for the summer this year, on June 23/24th.
FERNIE
First up is Fernie Alpine Resort with its new Zipline and Aerial Playground in the trees. There's also Fernie's Mountain Biking on one of the Largest Trail Networks in Canada. If exploring is more to your liking, you can take a Guided Hike to learn all about the native plants and wildlife on the mountain, or have lunch at the Mountain Top restaurant and enjoy the amazing view of the valley. Also available through Fernie is White Water Rafting, Golf and Fly Fishing Experiences.
KICKING HORSE
Kicking Horse has Golden, BC’s only Gondola Accessed Mountain Biking at the highest elevation Mountain Bike Park in Canada. Kicking Horse is also home to Boo, the Orphan Grizzly Bear who lives in the World’s Largest Enclosed and Protected Grizzly Bear Habitat, tours run every hour and you are almost guaranteed for a Boo sighting (no tour at 1pm due to Boo’s daily self-imposed nap). For exploring, take a hike or enjoy the endless vista views during lunch at the Eagle’s Eye restaurant, Canada’s highest restaurant perched atop the mountains at the top of the Gondola. Also available through Kicking Horse is White Water Rafting and Golf Vacations.
