As Spring Break descends upon Mount Washington Alpine Resort, the weather is turning decidedly “Springy”!

“Forecasts are looking sunny with mild alpine temperatures hovering around freezing over the next week,” says Mount Washington spokesperson, Brent Curtain. “It looks like we’re going to get picture-perfect spring conditions for the beginning of the school break.”

With a snowbase depth of more than two metres, the mountain is staying open daily until Monday, April 21 and is definitely positioned well in the snow department.

“All of our terrain is open in both our alpine and nordic areas,” explains Don Sharpe, Director of Business Operations and Marketing. “Now we’re working on getting new features built in the Stomping Ground Terrain Park for upcoming events.”

Mount Washington’s event calendar is piling up over the next month and begins with the Dakine Slopestyle on March 15 for skiers and snowboarders. On March 17, the mountain is offering BC residents 50% off full-day lift tickets and trail passes for Go Green, Save Green! The Herb Bradley Pepsi Challenge takes place on March 23 to support the Vancouver Island Adaptive Snowsports program.

The end of March brings a Rail Jam to the Alpine Lodge, right where the action is, and the Vancouver Island Loppet returns in its 32nd year to the Mount Washington Nordic Centre.
