Following through on its goal to elevate the retail experience, Vancouver-based retailer and manufacturer, Arc’teryx plays host to local brand clients by offering clinics, education seminars, nights out and partner events at its second store in the newly finished Yorkdale Mall expansion.

Arc’teryx, renowned for their obsessive design and precise production of timeless quality outdoor apparel and equipment, is focused on growing brand awareness and increasing consumer loyalty through an increased investment in retail space. The aim is to create more intimate one-on-one relationships with consumers through their brand stores and to use the spaces as a hub for educating and inspiring the Toronto outdoor community.

We have a very loyal consumer base built around amazing product experiences, and brand stores offer us an opportunity to support that experience by building personal relationships with our most dedicated brand advocates”, says Adam Ketcheson, VP Marketing & B2C. “Outdoor consumers in Toronto appreciate the values of our brand and we’re excited to be coming to Yorkdale, it’s a great opportunity to serve our community”.

With this in mind, the new Toronto store will open its doors Tuesday, October 18th with a series of special events. The highly anticipated “First 50” is a recognised crowd pleaser, where the first 50 customers through the doors at the 10am opening will receive Arc’teryx gift bags. Line-ups have been known to start the night before.

Running concurrently is the Get Outdoors Instagram competition, which awards the top post with $3000 worth of Arc’teryx gear – #arcteryxyorkdale. More long term and indicative of global brand community programming, there are planned special partner evenings with local climbing gyms, Arc’teryx athletes and ambassadors and other outdoor related partners.

“We want our stores to be hubs for the local outdoor community and offer opportunities for our consumers and fans to learn more about the activities we make our product for, as well as inspire people to get outside and explore the wonders of wild places”, says John Irvine, Manager of Global Community Marketing at Arc’teryx.

The 2825 sqft Yorkdale Mall store is the company’s fourth fully owned retail store in Canada, and second in Toronto, located at 3401 Dufferin St. The company targets key international cities and has 38 branded stores globally that complement a robust wholesale distribution.

The store will showcase the brand’s Fall/Winter Collection from snow sports and climbing to urban lifestyle pieces.
