Sidetrip: A Powder Stop At Revelstoke Mountain Resort

What a difference a day makes. The cliché spins through my head as we plough over Rogers Pass. Having left the comforts of the Fairmont Banff Springs and the sun over Lake Louise, we’re headed west on Highway 1 (the TCH) to snowed-in Revelstoke.

Heli- and Cat-Skiing in BC

Today there are more than 40-plus heli- and cat-skiing operations on the deep powder slopes of British Columbia — a pursuit that started a half century ago in Canada’s Kootenay Rockies. Here’s a thorough list:

Steve Ramey: Climber, Snowboarder, Head Chef

Vancouver is a city renowned for culinary excellence, and for the past five years, no room has crackled with buzz quite like David Hawksworth’s eponymous Hawksworth restaurant in the Hotel Georgia. Reaching The Peak

TRAVELLING TO SUN PEAKS has for many years felt like coming home. There are many aspects to that homecoming: the off-camber corner I instinctually and reluctantly slow down for; the sparkling lights on the eaves twinkling between the trees, beckoning hello, relax, come play; the smiling face at the front desk saying, “Welcome back, Edith – how was the drive?” or, sometimes, “Willkommen!” Regardless of where I stay, Sun Peaks has all the qualities of home.
