The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang are in full-swing and so, too, are our great Canadian Snowsports athletes. Here’s a quick video round-up (courtesy CBC) of how Canadians are being represented on the podium, thus far:
Mikaël Kingsbury was already the most accomplished male moguls athlete of all time, but his recent Gold medal puts him in the conversation of being the greatest freestyle skier of all time (or GOAT, as the cool kids are saying these days). Jump to 3:52 to see his Gold medal run.
Sticking with freestyle skiing, after winning Gold in the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Justine Dufour-Lapointe came away with a Silver medal. Jump to 2:06 to see her Silver medal run.
Max is an accomplished X Games champion and after falling on his first two runs, was able to put together a great third-run and add an Olympic Silver medal in Slopestyle to his resume. At just 23-years-old and the Big Air competition still to go, the sky’s the limit.
The fact that Mark McMorris was even able to compete in these Winter Olympics is a testament to his drive and passion for snowboarding. After suffering a near fatal accident just 11 months ago, Mark worked hard to make the Olympic team and came away with the second-career Bronze medal.
