With winter over, Banff’s Mt. Norquay has turned its full attention to opening a brand new summer climbing activity for Banff National Park: the Via Ferrata.

Italian for ‘Iron Path’, the Via Ferrata climbing experience will take you to the cliffs above the ski area as you’re led by a certified guide and assisted by a fixed anchoring system of cables, ladders and a suspension bridge. The exposure is real, but so is the safety.

No climbing experience is necessary for your time on the Norquay rocks. All you need to have is the physical ability to climb a ladder, an appreciation for the outdoors and a spirit for adventure.

Climbers are rewarded at the top with some of the most unique and stunning views of Banff.

Scheduled to open this June, you can read more about the Via Ferrata experience at www.banffnorquay.com/summer.
