To celebrate their impressive snow conditions Big White Ski Resort is extending their “Book 3, Get 4” and “Book 5, Get 7” deals, which means free days on the hill this spring.

With a solid snow pack of 204 centimetres (81 inches) Big White has some of the best snow conditions in North America. Combine this with an exciting line up of events including rail jams, wine events, photo competitions and the famous Neil Edgeworth Banked Slalom, and you have one fun snow filled spring break.

Buy 5, Get 7: Big White’s “Buy 5, Get 7” offer is the biggest deal of the season. Guests who book 5 nights of accommodation and 5 days of skiing at Big White will get an additional 2 nights and 2 days – free of charge. The Buy 5, Get 7 offer is valid from February 7, 2014 to the end of the season. The offer is available by quoting K0/1314 at the time of booking.

Buy 3, Get 4: Book three nights and three days of skiing with Big White Central Reservations and the fourth night and day of skiing is free. The “Buy 3, Get 4” offer is valid from now until the end of the season. Please quote special code HA/1314 at time of booking.

“We’ve had consistent snowfalls through December and January, getting snow when the coast was getting rain,” says Michael Ballingall, Big White’s Senior Vice President. “Being inland and the highest resort in the interior our snow has stayed fresh. We’ve received another 26 centimetres in the last week and consistently have the highest snow base of the resorts in the interior.”

Key BC Spring Break Events

March 15: TELUS Park Rail Jam #4 Presented by the Village Rider.  This is the final instalment of the popular rail jam event happening in TELUS Park and is great for riders and spectators alike. Registration can be done through e-mail terrainparkevents@bigwhite.com.

March 15 & 16: This is the final round of Cruz the Blues (one of the most popular events of the entire season). Guests are encouraged to challenge themselves to ride all of the blue runs on the mountain, and collect stamps in a passport.  When they hand in their completed passport at the end of the weekend they get a limited edition t-shirt and entered into a draw for the event’s grand prize.

March 17: This St. Patrick’s Day, guests who catch the leprechaun skiing on the Plaza chair will be rewarded with candy coins. For some Irish inspired après guests can head to the Moose Lounge in Happy Valley for festive green drink specials, Irish jigs and great prizes.

March 21 – 23: Take a break from skiing and escape into the art world at the White Crystal Conference Room. Art E’scape at Big White is proud to announce this year’s guest artist at is Alex Fong, a Vancouver born artist specializing in watercolors.

March 22: The Big White Spring Wine Gala showcases the best white wines produced in the Okanagan Valley and gives event goers the opportunity to taste the variety, quality and individuality coming from the area. Chefs from the mountain will be preparing locally inspired appetizers so guests can sample delectable nibbles from Big White’s delicious restaurants.  The event is in support of the Big White Racers Ski Club, and so the evening will also feature a live auction along with a late night dance and delectable dessert bar. Tickets are $75 per person, and the event starts at 7:00 pm in the Village Centre Mall.

March 28 – 30: Neil Edgeworth Banked Slalom is arguably the biggest weekend for snowboarding at Big White. The Neil Edgeworth Banked Slalom is more than a contest; it’s a gathering of all riders young, and young at heart.  Originally called the Upland Snowboard Big White Banked Slalom, which started in 1987, it was renamed after Neil Edgeworth, a prolific skier who passed away in an avalanche in France.

March 30: Guests are invited to come and check out the contestant’s photos from Big White’s 9th Annual Photo Contest Showcase & Awards at the Happy Valley Day Lodge from 8:00pm.
