Blue Mountain’s 10-week extension of discounts on its 5×7 lift pass ends January 7.

The 5×7 pass is continuing to be sold by the Ontario ski resort at a reduced rate; however, each week the pass has been increasing in price by $10.

The extension was in celebration of the 5×7’s 10th Anniversary. This year, the resort sold the 5×7® Pass at $209 (+HST) beginning November 5, 2012.  The price has been increasing by $10.00 (+HST) every Monday at 12 a.m. until it reaches its regular season rate of $299 (+HST) on January 7th, 2013.

“The Pass is popular among locals and guests from the GTA,”  says Paul Pinchbeck, Director, Marketing, Blue Mountain, “not just because of the great value, but because it provides access for night skiing seven days and day skiing midweek when the mountain is less busy.”

Since its inception, the 5×7 Pass has represented more than 80 per cent of all Passes sold at Blue Mountain.  “We now see other resorts taking on the same model,” added Pinchbeck.  The Resort also attributes some of its growth and mountain upgrades such as new lifts, expansion of night skiing, grooming and snowmaking to revenue and demand generated through the popularity of the 5×7  Pass.
