PRINOTH hosts the 2nd FIS Ski and Snowboard Course Builder and Designer Clinic

From 5th to 7th of October PRINOTH’s headquarter in Sterzing, Italy hosted the 2nd FIS Ski and Snowboard Course Builder and Designer Clinic. The goal of the seminar was once again to gather the stakeholders involved with FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Cup competitions ahead of the upcoming season. The workshop focused on course and park optimization from the viewpoints of safety and efficiency in the construction and competition phase, which represents a high priority and consistently drives the development of the sport ahead.

Joseph Fitzgerald, FIS Freestyle Ski Coordinator, emphasized that it is necessary to express the goals of FIS in regards to the development and direction of Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding. Proper cooperation between National Ski Associations, Organizing Committees as well as ski resorts, course designers and course builders is essential for providing top-level events.

FIS Ski Cross Race Director, Martin Fiala admired that the Clinic was a great step forward.

“I am happy to his tremendous interest in all topics around Courses. Our host PRINOTH did an amazing job providing us great environment for this important meeting”. Following the positive feedback from the Clinic, FIS officials are already looking forward the third edition as well as the potential expansion to other continents.

To achieve the benchmarks set at the autumn meetings in Zurich, the Course Builder and Designer Clinic was an obvious step towards better education and training. During the 3 days workshops more than 70 Professionals shared knowledge and best practice experience from all over the Globe.

“It is fantastic to see all the various expert groups that spend such efforts to make this clinic a success” – said Uwe Beier, FIS Snowboard Race Director. “Year by year the popularity of the sport increases and so does the demand for better courses and parks”.

The workshop was also an important step in strengthening the partnership between PRINOTH and the FIS, which has already proved successful in the past: PRINOTH was for instance the official supplier for all the shaping and preparation equipment at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championship 2015 in Kreischberg, Austria.

“It is a great pleasured for us to have had the Clinic with all its experts here at PRINOTH”, echoed the President of PRINOTH, Werner Amort. “The collaboration gives us the opportunity to exchange the knowledge and in-field experience that is important in developing our park machines”. Again this year PRINOTH’s grooming machines will play an important role in the World Cup season with new vehicles designed specifically for ski and snowboard park and courses.
