women ski getaways

Nakiska and Whistler have been listed in the Top 10 Best Women’s Ski Getaways by USA Today.

Alberta’s Ski Nakiska landed the No.1 spot for women’s ski holidays, beating out resorts across the USA and Canada. Whistler, BC was named No.5.

“Nakiska is a great groomed hill and perfect place to start skiing in the Canadian Rockies, and the community of Canmore and the surrounding alpine wilds of Kananaskis make ’em fabulous destinations for a women’s ski getaway,” says USA Today. The newspaper recommends a local women’s ski program run jointly by Canadian Olympians Thomas Grandi and Sara Renner out of Canmore’s Paintbox Lodge. (www.SkiNakiska.com)

In No.5 spot was Whistler, BC. “From December through April, Whistler is the place to be for women who want to learn to ski the steeps,” says USA Today. “Enroll in one of the Arc ‘Teryx Women’s Camps offered on weekends throughout the season.” The newspaper recommends dinner at the Bearfoot Bistro in Whistler Village: “There’s an icy-cold vodka tasting room and champagne bar to help toast your successes after a long day on the mountain.” (www.whistlerblackcomb.com)

Other top women’s ski getaway spots included Idaho’s Sun Valley and Colorado’s Aspen/Snowmass.
