Quebec’s Mont-Sainte-Anne will install a new lift to access expert terrain by Winter 2014.

The Doppelmayr detachable quad chair, manufactured in St-Jérôme, Québec, will replace a triple chairlift that currently serves the area at the top of the mountain.

The investment will reduce the ride time in half and serve more skiable terrain. Currently it is Quebec’s the only lift construction announcement for 2014.

Renowned for its vertical drop and its unique view of the St. Lawrence River and magnificent Québec City, the expert area of Mont-Sainte-Anne will see a great enhancement with the arrival of this new lift,” states a press release. “The new detachable quad lift will be twice as fast as its predecessor, a fix triple chairlift. Also, its path will be modified and optimized to provide access to the entire mountain, not only the expert area. Due to this major investment, construction on the lift has already begun with an expected opening for December 2013.”
