Monday Nights at Mt Seymour are Back
All New “Shred For The Cause”

North Vancouver, B.C. – Mt Seymour’s Monday night “Shred for the Cause” is back. Vancouver’s largest ski and snowboard charity fundraiser is ready for another season, beginning January 25, 2016.

This year, the fundraiser will support a new beneficiary, Powell Place and Springhouse Women’s Shelters, managed by The Bloom Group, and adds a streamlined donation system. There are no vouchers given out at retail outlets – guests can come up to Mt Seymour and pay at Guest Services.

For the 2016 season, ladies can ski or snowboard from 6pm to 10pm every Monday at Mt Seymour for a minimum donation of $10, with $5 from every lift ticket going to The Bloom Group. Guests can donate more if they wish, with extra donations also supporting The Bloom Group`s women’s shelters. Men are still welcome to enjoy some evening skiing. Lift tickets for men from 6pm to 10pm are $31.

Eddie Wood, General Manager of Mt Seymour Resort, comments: “We pride ourselves in being a local mountain, and supporting local initiatives. We are very happy to support a local non-profit organisation. The Bloom Group fits perfectly to Mt Seymour.”

The Bloom Group has been providing some of the most progressive social services in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for over 50 years, including low-barrier shelters for women and children. Lanna Many Grey Horses, Manager of Women and Children Services with The Bloom Group, comments: “It’s great that Mt Seymour’s Monday night fundraiser and women-friendly environments help make outdoor sports a little more accessible for women. Our thanks to Mt Seymour, and all the Monday-night shredders, for helping women in our shelters enhance their skills and strengths to move forward in life.”

After eight seasons of “Shred For The Cure”, Mt Seymour’s guests have raised $150,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation. We thank the BC Cancer Foundation for the support and great cooperation as they continue their very important work.
