Silver Star

To celebrate Ontario and Saskatchewan’s Family Day weekend February 14-17, 2014, Silver Star is offering deep discounts on lift tickets and accommodation. The BC ski resort’s MyMtn FlexiCard has also been extended, offering an affordable way for skiers and riders to enjoy one of the top mountain resorts in Western Canada.

Stay 3 nights and ski 2 days at Silver Star Mountain Resort and you will receive 15 percent off slope side lodging and lift tickets. Present your valid Ontario or Saskatchewan driver’s license on Monday February 17th and receive 50 percent off your lift ticket. This year Silver Star is among 24 BC resorts participating in the lift ticket promotion. To book, call Silver Star Holidays and quote booking code “VE.”

Due to popular demand, Silver Star is extending the sale of its MyMtn FlexiCard until month’s end and is valid Family Day weekend. The FlexiCard provides unlimited access to downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, ice-skating and snowshoeing for three days. The FlexiCard costs $179 for adults and is valid for any 3 days on the mountain and provides immediate savings of 25 percent.

Silver Star will also be running a Nordic Supercamp February 14-16. Classic and skate skiers will have the opportunity to be coached to improve their ability.

“Ontario and Saskatchewan Family Day was a great success last year,” says Anne Haight, director of sales and marketing, Silver Star Mountain Resort, “We had an excellent turnout and I was pleased to see that many Ontarians (Saskatchewanites) chose to take advantage of their time off work and school and head to BC. If you are going to in fact spend family day as a family, why not do it at a family friendly resort!”

Silver Star’s participation in the Family Day Ski Promotion brings tourism dollars to BC while supporting key local businesses and driving an increase in job opportunities. Silver Star’s charming mid-mountain village offers a full array of winter activities.

Families can enjoy more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain at the resort and 55km of Nordic trails. From magical horse drawn sleigh rides, to snowshoe trails through the forest and thrilling snowmobile tours, a family can chose to enjoy a busy or relaxing weekend. After a day on the mountain, mothers can pamper themselves at the Ousia Day Spa and couples can let a horse drawn sleigh ride or snow-cat tour transport them to a remote mountain cabin for a candle-lit dinner.

“This stretch of winter can feel never-ending,” says Michael Sherwood, general manager, Silver Star Mountain Resort, “This is the perfect time to bring your whole family out to the mountain and celebrate winter. Parents can ski or ride, kids can go tubing or hit the ski school and grandma and grandpa can take their time gliding along our Nordic ski trails. Silver Star offers so many family friendly activities to choose from at family friendly prices.”
