Skiers can ride BC’s Sun Peaks Monday, December 3 for only $2 plus a non-perishable food donation.

The discount is part of a drive to raise funds and items for Sun Peaks’ local food drive. “Our goal is to raise $6,000 and fill a 360 cubic foot trailer with food donations to deliver to the Kamloops Food Bank this holiday season,” says Anne Marie Dill, Guest Services Manager for Sun Peaks Resort.

This year, canned fish and poultry as well as peanut butter are the top two needed items. Other needed items include baby food and formula, canned stew, chili, brown beans, canned vegetables and fruit, dry pasta, rice, canned spaghetti sauce, cereal and canned soup.

Toonie Day at Sun Peaks continues to be a strong winter and summer tradition and an anticipated opportunity to give back to the community. Last year, Sun Peaks’ community and its guests raised more than $6,000 through its two Toonie Day events.

Sun Fun Tours, through Canada West Coachlines, is once again shuttling guests from Kamloops up to Sun Peaks on weekends this winter and will operate a bonus day on Toonie Day. Regular rates will apply ($25.00/round trip). Check website for times and pick-up/drop-off locations.
