Mt. Seymour invites young men and women ages 15-23 inclusive looking to take their freestyle skiing and snowboarding to the next level to submit their application to Mt Seymour’s Development Team. The application deadline is Friday, November 21, 2014.
Supporting the development of local amateur and professional athletes has been a long-standing tradition for Mt Seymour. For the past twenty years, Mt Seymour riders and skiers have received national and international exposure through their involvement in slopestyle events, as well as extensive coverage in print and video publications. Devun Walsh, Kevin Sansalone, Roberta Rodgers and Wayne Wong all started out on Mt Seymour and have been major influencers in the progression of skiing and snowboarding.
Development Team members receive support and guidance towards building an industry-standard portfolio and attend workshops hosted by professional riders both on the slopes and in the classroom. In addition, Mt Seymour will facilitate photo and film shoots to use in portfolio development, building a strong base for sponsorship submissions, as well as feature Development Team members on Mt Seymour’s website, social media channels and blog.
Awarded the Second Best Terrain Park in Western Canada by the SBC Resort Guide last year, Mt Seymour is an excellent mountain to play on and train on. Interested applicants should bear in mind that the Development Team is competitive and each member is required to enter a minimum of two Mt Seymour hosted slopestyle events during the 2014-2015 season.
